Nine Essential Oils That Fight Cancer, Boost Immunity & Improve Feelings Of Well-Being

In the United States there are only two approved treatments for cancer;these include radiation treatment and chemotherapy. This is a shame given the fact that a number of people are having success using alternative treatments. Despite that fact, this type of route for cancer treatment is still very shunned by the mainstream medical community, but it doesn’t make much sense as to why.

It doesn’t make sense because chemotherapy statistics show that it’s only 2 (approximate) percent effective towards 5 year survival. It’s been known for a very long time that that Oncologists, doctors who recommend cancer treatments, have varied in their willingness to undergo cancer therapies, as illustrated in a study published by the British Journal of Medicine (source) more than a decade ago. In 1985, a survey found that only about one-third of physicians and oncology nurses would have consented to chemotherapy for non-small-cell lung cancer. Today, willingness to undergo cancer treatment by doctors who prescribe it is still lacking, although a decent percentage would undergo treatment, many have still stated that they would not, but there is not much research available since the studies that were conducted many years ago.

These doctors are not alone in their thoughts, as the increase in patients refusing traditional cancer treatment continues to increase. (source) A very recent study showing that approximately 90 percent of doctors would refuse cancer treatment if they were terminally ill, meaning that their disease is perceived as incurable and they were expected to pass away. (source)

As mentioned above, although chemotherapy has saved lives, it’s also done the opposite, and  it has an extremely low success rate. The medical community continues to ignore other available treatments that people are having success with. If we look at these treatments and the statistics for them, we won’t find anything. If a study was done examining the success rate of alternative treatments, it would no doubt, in my opinion, be higher than the success rate of chemotherapy. This type of statistic would absolutely destroy the cancer industry.

The idea that conventional cancer treatment is rarely effective and exists primarily for the benefit of the cancer industry itself is not far fetched. It’s hard on the body, and in many cases cancer stem cells are generated by the therapy itself, which are resistant to conventional therapy. In breast cancer, radiation treatment just drives breast cancer cells into greater malignancy and can make them up to 30 times more malignant. (source)

When it comes to actual cancer research, Ph.d, and two time Nobel Prize winner in chemistry, Linus Pauling said it best when he stated that “everyone should know that most cancer research is largely a fraud, and that the major cancer research organizations are derelict in their duties to the people who support them. (source)

Here is another great quote to get my point across, this time from Ralph Moss, Ph.D., as quoted by John Diamond, M.D., and Lee Cowden, M.D. in Alternative Medicine, in their book: The Definitive Guide To Cancer

The field of U.S. cancer care is organized around a medical monopoly that ensures a continuous flow of money to the pharmaceutical companies, medical technology firms, research institutes, and government agencies such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Cancer institute (NCI) and quasi-public organizations such as the American Cancer Society (ACD)

As mentioned earlier, despite the fact that many doctors would refuse conventional treatment, when confronted with a cancer patient they have no choice but to offer it, regardless of their beliefs, which they do not share. Not recommending these treatments could lead to a lawsuit and a loss of medical license. Doesn’t seem quite right does it?

Lorraine Jeanette day is one example out of many, a former orthopaedic trauma surgeon and Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at San Francisco. She did her research, used alternative treatment and now is a heavy promoter of alternative cancer treatments.

The list goes on and on, whether it’s specific constituents within cannabis, which have shown to annihilate cancer cells for decades, or something else, these treatments have been working for some people, but not all. Just as with chemotherapy, people can pass away by selecting the alternative route. But ask yourself this, if so many other substances, like cannabis, have shown to have tremendous antitumoral properties, why aren’t there any  clinical trials being conducted? When a pharmaceutical drug shows half as much promise, clinical trials are set up right away.

These are few things to thing about when it comes to cancer treatment in general, and despite the constant ridicule by the mainstream medical industry about ‘alternative’ cancer treatments, they do show promise, and I believe, much more promise than chemotherapy. Below is a great video by Kimberly Carter Gamble that illustrates what many people are feeling today.

12 Essential Oils That Can Help Fight Cancer, Boost Immunity and Improve Feelings Of Well-Being.

***Some of the studies cited here are in vivo, others are in vitro. We need to talk more about cancer prevention, and it’s well established in scientific literature that there are certain dietary changed you can make to drastically reduce your chances of contracting cancer. These measures including incorporating more cancer killing organic fruits and vegetables into your diet on a daily basis, exercise, and more. Below is a list of nine essential oils you can also use, but it requires much more and you need to do your research.

Numerous studies have pointed out how more people are turning towards these methods for cancer prevention and treatment, which is why, although they show promise, much more research is needed to find out more about different cancer, dosages, etc.

Here is a great publication to illustrate what I mean:

Essential Oils and Their Constituents as Anticancer Agent: A Mechanistic View

Black Pepper

When peper was tested independently, in was shown to exhibit anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anticancer activities in cell studies. Research has also found that pipeline in combination with green tea (polyphenol epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), it increases the bioavailability of EGCG.

According to Joshua Lambert, PhD, Associate Professor of Food Science at Penn State University and lead researcher in the study, they found that when they gave mice EGCG together with pepper, they could increase the amount of compound that got into the blood and into some of the tissues compared to just giving them EGCG alone. They have a study going on right now that AICR funded where they are studying human subjects looking at the same bioavailability markers and they are seeing improved bioavailability in people. The pepper dose used was 230 mg, just one-eight of a teaspoon of black pepper.

Cinnamon

Dozens of papers have been published outlining cinnamaldehyde’s ability to inhibit tumour cell death and cancer cell apoptosis. This number could be in the hundreds. A simple google search of scholarly articles and publications regarding cinnamon and its anti-cancer properties will make this clear.

Clove

One study points out how “spices, active ingredients of Indian cooking, may play important roles in prevention and treatment of various cancers.” It’s not the only one to do so, and this is well established in scientific literature. Clove oil actually contains up to 30 x more anti-oxidants than blueberries, which helps reduce free radical damage. Another study showed how “clove has different capacity to cause cell death in various cancerous cell lines of human origin.” (source)

Oregano

Oregano extract has been shown to “lead to growth arrest and cell death in a dose- and time-dependent manner” in colon cancer cells. A phytochemical in oregano, carnosol, has also been “evaluated for anti-cancer property in prostate, breast, skin, leukemia, and colon cancer with promising results.” Oregano extract has also been shown to have anti-timor effects on metazoic breast cancer cells lines. (source)(source)

It also provides antioxidants that boost the immune system, and has one of the highest antioxidant activity ratings, with 42 time more than that of an apple .

Cardamom

Here is a good publication that has a section of Cardamom, it outline several health benefits from inhibiting chemical carcinogenesis  to its known antioxidant properties.  It’s also been shown to have anti-cancer properties as well, which is illustrated by multiple studies.  Here is one of them.

Fennel

A plant-based herb whose bulb doubles as a vegetable packed with nutritional value. As an herb, fennel has been used for decades both as a spice in the preparation of various meals and even medicinally as a cure for various ailments. Combined with its use as a vegetable fennel has been linked to help with respiratory disorders, menstrual disorders, colic, indigestion and eye care just to name a few.

One study pointed out how the extract showed “remarkable anticancer potential against a breast cancer cell line and liver cancer cell line. It also showed strong free radical-scavenging activity.” (source)

Another outlines how “compiled data indicate their efficacy in several in vitro and in vivo pharmacological properties such as antimicrobial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antimutagenic, antinociceptive, antipyretic, antispasmodic, antithrombotic, apoptotic, cardiovascular, chemomodulatory, antitumor, hepatoprotective, hypoglycemic, hypolipidemic, and memory enhancing property.” (source)

Frankincense

Frankincense has been shown to kill bladder, breast, and skin cancer cells.

One study found that:

“Frankincense essential oils prepared by hydrodistillation of gum resins from Boswellia species contain complex chemical constituents and possess anti-cancer activity. Frankincense essential oil activates arrays of genes and pathways that suppress the growth and induce the apoptosis of established human cancer cell lines of different tissue origins. Besides boswellic acids, frankincense essential oil-induced anti-proliferative and pro-apoptotic activities in tumour cells may result from high-molecular-weight compound.”

Thyme

Wild thyme has been used to induce cell death in breast cancer cells. After 72 hours of treatment, thyme essential oil killed 98 percent of human breast cancer cells, with researchers concluding wild thyme “may be a promising candidate in the development of novel therapeutic drugs for breast cancer treatment.” This is one example of a study where thyme has shown anti-tumoral properties. (source)

Rosemary

Research has shown that rosemary can help prevent cancer and other age-related diseases. It has caffein acid and rosemarinic acid, which are moth powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agents. They help protect the body’s cells from damage by free radicals, as do the the substances mentioned above. It’s also rich in carnosol, which has been found to detoxify substance that can initiate the breast=cancer process. It’s also very rich in vitamin E. (source)

Clary Sage

Clary sage has been shown anticancer effects against breast cancer cells lines, lung cancer cell lines,  and prostate cancer cell lines. (source). It also causes  direct anti-cancer cytotoxicity in subcutaneous tumour bearing mice. (source)
